Over the last decade I have been lucky enough to deliver hundreds of new Rayglass Boats to families around New Zealand.

I've seen firsthand the value these boats add to people's lives — and I've experienced it myself when my own family purchased a Rayglass. Buying a Rayglass is more than just purchasing a boat; you are joining a family, and that truly means something.

Offshore Collective was built to change the model. We want to make premium boating more accessible for the years that matter most — creating a community of like-minded families who love being on the water in a brand new Rayglass.

The Gap

When I would hand over a new boat, the owners were overjoyed. Ask any of them whether they'd want to have experienced this earlier in life, and every single one would say yes.

The reality is that full ownership of a brand new premium boat was always going to arrive later than the years it would have mattered most. With the way boat prices are heading, that gap is only getting wider.

Whether you buy an Offshore Collective share at 40 or at 60, the maths stays the same.

Built Around What Matters
01

Defined 3-Year Terms

At Rayglass, people historically upgraded every three to five years. We've structured Offshore Collective around a clear three-year term, so you know your pathway from day one — complete with a built-in exit or upgrade strategy.

02

Exclusive Rayglass Partnership

We're proud to partner exclusively with Rayglass. Buying an OC share doesn't just get you our support — you get the full backing of the factory, located right next door to where your boat is stored at Tamaki Marine Park.

Our mission is to give people the chance to look back and say “those were the good old days” — with memories made on a premium boat that never required a compromise.

That's what I want for my family. When you join our community, you join the Rayglass family.

Where the difference becomes clear

Like For Like

The easiest way to compare: over the same three years, on the exact same boat, how much does it actually cost you — after you've sold it and got some money back? Here's the honest answer.

Rayglass 3000
3-Year Comparison
What it costs upfront
Full ownership
$464,936
OC share
$85,238
Per year, all up (incl. depreciation)
Full ownership
$61,120
OC share
$26,225
All-up costs include running expenses, storage, insurance, and the cost of capital.
*Calculations are based on estimated historical depreciation rates and standard usage profiles.

Full boat ownership remains the right choice for many people. But for many, the greatest challenge isn't purchasing the boat — it's everything that comes afterwards: insurance, servicing, storage, cleaning, maintenance, administration, resale.

Instead of carrying 100% of the capital requirement and 100% of the responsibility, OC shareholders enjoy a premium ownership experience while sharing both the capital commitment and the operational cost across six owners.

More than just lower capital — shareholders gain simplicity, predictability, and the freedom to focus purely on the boating experience.

A Full-Circle Moment

Growing up
South Island

Obsessed before I could explain why

Drawing boats as a kid, dragging my grandad down to the local boatyard just to look. Family holidays meant towing a boat behind the car — Abel Tasman, the Marlborough Sounds, Lake Wanaka, Banks Peninsula. When my parents bought a Rayglass 2350 in 2016 it was a genuine milestone, and the memories got bigger from there.

Superyachts
Three years

Where the standard was set

Straight out of school I knew whatever came next had to involve the marine industry. I trained as a PADI dive instructor, then spent three years as a dive instructor and engineer on some of the world's best superyachts — learning both the technical side of keeping a boat running properly and what unforgettable service actually looks like.

Rayglass
Nearly a decade

A whole new world on the Gulf

Moving to Auckland opened up the Hauraki Gulf — creating memorable purchasing experiences for customers, delivering boats, hearing their stories from the Gulf, the Coromandel, the Bay of Islands and beyond. Somewhere in there a strong belief took hold: the product and the experience around it matter just as much as each other.

Today
Offshore Collective

Full circle

Now my wife Georgia and I have our own family, and we want our kids to have the same experiences that we were both fortunate to have growing up.

Offshore Collective is the combination of everything I've loved, learned and lived — built so families can skip the logistics and get straight to memories that last a lifetime.
