A genuine one-sixth equity share in a brand new Rayglass, held through a dedicated ownership structure set up specifically for that boat. This is real ownership, not a membership or a right to use, you hold an actual stake in the asset itself.
-
Each boat carries its own comprehensive hull, machinery, and public liability cover, arranged and managed by OC, and included in your annual fee.
-
No. OC is fully and professionally managed on your behalf, storage, servicing, cleaning, insurance, booking administration, all of it. You're never expected to contribute time, effort, or hands-on involvement to keep things running.
-
An entry cost when you join, covering your equity share plus a one-off structuring fee, and an annual management fee from there covering everything, storage, insurance, servicing, and cleaning.
-
If damage occurs while the boat is in your care, you're responsible for the insurance excess, insurance covers the rest. (Provided the claim is approved as per the boats insurance policy)
-
A small portion of your annual fee is set aside specifically for this, held separately and used to fund the boat's professional refurbishment at the end of its term, so it always goes to market presented at its best.
-
Every booking runs through the custom built OC app. Before you ever step aboard, the boat has already been professionally cleaned and inspected. You will be notified via the app when your boat is in the water and ready to go the day before your booking date.
-
Both, working together. Every shareholder receives 58 points a year to book however suits them, weekdays, weekends, and long weekends, first come first served. On top of that, built-in fairness rules mean no single shareholder can quietly dominate the calendar, long weekends are capped, and named public holidays rotate fairly across the group so the same person doesn't repeatedly get first claim on the same date. Full detail is in the booking section above.
-
Yes, you may nominate one secondary operator, who completes the same qualification requirements as you before they're authorised to use the boat. That said, if the boat is used by a nominated secondary operator, the primary shareholder is fully liable and responsible for the boat during that time. OC also has full discretion on whether or not a secondary operator is approved. Qualification for a secondary operator is at an additional cost and separate session to the primary operator.
-
Yes. Every shareholder completes a mandatory competency assessment through Powerboat Training NZ on your actual boat before receiving access, a genuine requirement of the insurance covering the fleet, not a formality.
-
You are responsible for completing a pre and post use checklist via the OC app prior to departure and upon return from Tamaki Marine Park. These condition reports are the source of truth for determining which shareholder is responsible for what. Anything flagged on these reports notifies OC immediately and is handled accordingly. All shareholders are notified of any issues or damage that arises.
-
A defined term means you always know exactly where you stand, no indefinite, open-ended commitment, and no uncertainty about when or how your ownership actually concludes. At the end of three years, you have a genuine choice, take a clean exit with proceeds from the eventual sale, determined by market conditions at the time or roll straight into a new boat for another term.
-
Your term is a genuine three-year commitment, and shareholders are expected to see it through. In truly exceptional circumstances, OC will work with you to find a resolution, but this isn't a routine, open option, it's a defined commitment by design.
-
Purchase a second share, in the same boat or a different one, each additional share brings another full 58 points alongside it. Also, Ii a day hasn't been booked by anyone by 9am, it becomes a free standby claim — no points required, first come first served, unlimited claims per year. It only applies to days nobody's booked at all, not a day someone's booked but not using.
